Yes tmux should work and should source bashrc. According to Linux Foundation: “The standard shells [are] included with a minimal install of Ubuntu 16 will be available, including bash”. So you can assume to get a minimal Ubuntu 16 or maybe 18. You could run it in a VM to test.
